Former Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd is rumored to try a position switch to tight end or wide receiver at whichever school he decides to attend next.

One former NFL player doesn’t think that’s the best idea.

Frank Wycheck, who is now a sports radio host in Nashville after an 11-year career as an NFL tight end, tweeted Wednesday that he believes Hurd should stay at running back. But Wycheck, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, said he would train with Hurd if he transitioned to tight end.

Hurd’s position switch is still just a rumor, and he’s probably a long way off from deciding where he’ll be transferring. But having such a successful former NFL tight end as a mentor would be a huge boon for Hurd if he ends up changing positions after all.
