The future for one of the final members of Tennessee’s 2016 signing class is in doubt with a recent suspension.

When 247Sports inquired to UT about the status of Mykelle McDaniel, spokesman Ryan Robinson responded with the following statement:

“Mykelle is being disciplined and will not be practicing with the team leading up to the bowl game,” Robinson said. “He is expected to rejoin the football program for the start of the spring semester.”

McDaniel vented his frustrations in a vague tweet Thursday afternoon:

While the official statement suggests a spring return, the 247Sports article indicates that McDaniel, a former three-star recruit from Loganville, Ga., could look at junior college options in his home state and elsewhere around the region. McDaniel did not play this season, and was a planned redshirt due to midseason surgery.
