Dak Prescott compares Mississippi State fame with Dallas Cowboys fame

Dak Prescott burst onto the NFL scene in a big way in 2016, replacing injured Dallas Cowboys starter Tony Romo and guiding the team to an NFL-best 13-3 record.
That success, with one of the league’s most popular teams, no less, obviously led to overnight fame for the former Mississippi State star.
In an interview with 247Sports, Prescott said his NFL fame was actually easier to handle than the fame he gained while he was at Mississippi State:
“What I tell people sometimes, it was worse in college than it is now. They look at me like I’m crazy, but just on the simple fact of as we know Mississippi State hadn’t had that much success in football until the years of me and my classmates when we went No. 1, it was wild.”
If Prescott leads the Cowboys to a Super Bowl title, he’ll reach a level of fame not many people have ever achieved. Until then, though, it’s believable that he was actually more famous during his time in Starkville.
However, it’s a safe bet that more people know his name and recognize him in public now that he’s the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
