Former Notre Dame QB Malik Zaire reacts to change of SEC’s graduate transfer rule

If you needed any evidence of whether Malik Zaire was paying attention to the rules being discussed during the SEC’s 2017 spring meetings, here’s your answer.

The former Notre Dame quarterback, currently seeking his next destination after earning his undergraduate degree, now has the ability to join Florida without restraint if he so desires. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey announced Friday the league has decided to curb its graduate transfer penalties from three years down to one, making it legal for Florida to add graduate transfers this offseason.

Soon after that bit of news was official, Zaire took to Twitter to celebrate:

At this point, it would be a shock if Zaire didn’t suit up for the Gators in 2017. The real question at this point isn’t his destination, but whether he will start for Florida over redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks.
