O.J. Howard may have a leg up on his fellow rookies down in Tampa during Buccaneers training camp — thanks to LSU. The way Howard tells it, his initial participation at the pro football level reminds him of his days at Alabama going up against the Tigers.

The No. 19 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft met with the media recently and was asked the difference between playing at the college level compared to the NFL. According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, Howard associated his new career with playing the Tigers.

“It’s like an LSU matchup every day,” Howard said. “Like an SEC matchup every game.”

The annual Alabama-LSU matchup has typically gone a long way in determining the champion of the West division in recent history. Thanks to his participation in the annual game, Howard may just have the edge necessary to win his individual one-on-one matchups at the game’s highest level.
