As travel plans across the country were canceled and otherwise adversely affected by recent bad weather, Jim Love’s 5-year-old daughter missed her chance to attend the Green Bay Packers’ Family Night activities.

The Love family eventually made it to Wisconsin, but they missed the event, which broke Love’s daughter’s heart.

So, like any good father, Love did what he could to make things right, reaching out to the team on Twitter to ask if there was any way his daughter could come see the team or get a tour of Lambeau Field:

Even though Love is a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, one Packer saw his note — former Texas A&M TE Martellus Bennett. A first-year member of the Packers, Bennett said he’d help the family out:

The story had a happy ending, as Love and his family were able to attend practice and hang out with Bennett afterward:

Bennett may be new to Green Bay, but he’s already earned himself at least two lifelong fans. Plus, with a gesture like this, perhaps even Jim will be swayed to root for the Packers this fall.
