Kevin Sumlin’s job security at Texas A&M has been discussed for months, and while the Aggies coach appeared to have calmed the waters after a rough start to the season, the heat has returned.

A&M dropped its fourth game of the season, and three of its last four, on Saturday, a 42-27 home loss to Auburn, in a game where the Aggies had seven three-and-outs.

Word also came out Monday that the Aggies could be interested in Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher.

Some of the issues that surfaced against Auburn were at quarterback where many fans remembered that Sumlin passed on current Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham in favor of the current crop of Aggies QBs.

Since the Aggies went 10-2 in 2012, Sumlin’s first season there and first in the SEC, the Aggies have won less than nine games in every regular season. What’s more, since early in the 2013 season, A&M is 2-11 at Kyle Field against divisional opponents.

The Aggies will play host to New Mexico this week.
