Former Alabama back Jalston Fowler was released by the Tennessee Titans, the team announced Saturday.

Fowler was originally drafted by the Titans in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played in 42 games for the team, making seven starts. He scored three career TDs, recording just 20 yards on 10 carries, but he was used primarily as a blocking fullback. He was among the team’s inactive players the last two games.

Fowler played five years at Alabama, including being a member of the Tide’s offense in back-to-back BCS National Championships in 2011 and 2012. He suffered a season-ending knee injury during the 2012 season.

He rushed for 738 yards and scored 12 total TDs during his Alabama career. He played for Vigor High School before enrolling at Alabama.
