As a freshman back in 2015, then-Florida DB Deiondre Porter was arrested for allegedly shooting at his pregnant girlfriend.

Now, it appears the case has been decided, as the Tampa Bay Times reports that Porter has accepted a plea deal to avoid a life sentence.

According to the report, Porter faces 10 years in prison for a serious of felony charges stemming from the incident:

Former Florida Gators defensive back and Jefferson High star Deiondre Porter faces 10 years in prison after accepting a plea deal on felony charges including aggravated assault, battery on a pregnant woman and robbery with a firearm.

Porter was dismissed from the Florida program immediately after that first arrest, and was then involved in another incident a few months later.

Sadly, he could have been heading to the NFL if his college career panned out, but because of some poor choices, he is now going to spend some serious time behind bars.
