As the UCF Knights continue to rack up wins, they continue to stay in the College Football Playoff conversation.

While it’s highly unlikely that the Knights make the final four, the chatter is going to be there for as long as they keep winning.

This week, ESPN College GameDay analyst Lee Corso spoke with reporters and was asked about UCF. The Orlando resident then read a prepared statement about the state of the Playoff system:

“Whatever the name, Boise State or (UCF), it doesn’t make a difference,” he said. “Until the people picking the Playoff teams put less emphasis on the strength of schedule, the teams outside the five major conferences have absolutely no chance of ever getting in. Period. The only way they’re going to get in is to join a conference, join the Power 5, and that’s not going to happen because those teams that are making money don’t want to share it. So listen, the current system is it, like it or not. I’m 83 years old, and the system is not going to change while I’m around.”

All the Knights can do is keep winning, and that’s what they’ve done so far.
