Report: Former LSU WR Malachi Dupre released by Houston Texans
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Former LSU WR Malachi Dupre was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
However, he was cut by the team before the year started, spending the rest of the year on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad. This offseason, he was signed to the Houston Texans’ practice squad, but now it appears he’ll be looking for another job.
According to the Texans’ PR Twitter account, Dupre was released from the practice squad on Monday to make room for former Illinois RB Josh Ferguson:
The Houston #Texans have signed RB Josh Ferguson to the practice squad and released WR Malachi Dupre off the practice squad.

Dupre is now on the hunt for a new NFL squad, but there are several receiver-needy teams out there, so he could land another spot.
We’ll have to wait and see if he surfaces soon on another roster.
