The New York Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football, but it was a costly win for former Georgia LB Alec Ogletree.

After drawing a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty in the third quarter for a hit that injured San Francisco WR Marquise Goodwin, Ogletree was fined by the NFL.

Per Pro Football Talk, that fine was $26,739 — a manageable, but still large sum for the talented linebacker.

The 49ers ended up throwing an interception on the possession, so it didn’t hurt the Giants, but Ogletree will need to be more careful with his hits moving forward.

The former Georgia linebacker has 55 tackles and an interception this season, his first year with the Giants.
