Opp High School in Opp, Alabama, has hired former Alabama head coach Mike DuBose as its defensive coordinator, per WSFA12 News.

Opp is DuBose’s alma mater, and in the past, he’s been a consultant to the program. However, he hasn’t worked with the football team for the last two years.

Head coach Brent Hill said DuBose was a big reason he accepted the Opp head coaching job several years ago, and he added that he’s “extremely excited” about DuBose joining the program.

Opp finished 0-10 this past season, as its defense gave up over 49 points per game.

DuBose played at Alabama from 1971-74, and he returned to become the Tide’s head coach in 1997-2000. He finished with a record of 24-23.
