In what would have been seen as a shocker considering Tua Tagovailoa’s near season-long dominance, Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray beat out the Alabama signal caller to win the 2018 Heisman Trophy on Saturday night.

Murray also beat out the other finalist, Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins for the award.

The Sooner QB becomes the 81st player to ever win the annual award, which has been given out every year dating back to 1935, and becomes the second Oklahoma QB to win it in as many seasons. Baker Mayfield won the award last season.
