WATCH: Jason Witten baffles Pro Bowl viewers with confusing mistake

Former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo stepped into the CBS broadcast booth and was an instant hit, winning over fans with his unique style of commentary.

Over at ESPN, his former tight end’s transition to announcing hasn’t been as smooth. On Sunday afternoon, Jason Witten continued to baffle listeners.

As you can hear in the clip below, when Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes hits Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron for a touchdown, Witten says that Ebron has been Mahomes’ favorite target all year:

To be fair, Colts QB Andrew Luck is also on the AFC Pro Bowl squad, so maybe Witten just got confused. Still, though, it’s a bad mistake for a high-profile broadcaster to make.

After this game, Witten will have a long offseason to get better at his craft, so we’ll see how he fares in 2019.
