Redskins coach Jay Gruden calls Shaun Dion Hamilton ‘most improved’ player this offseason

Former Alabama LB Shaun Dion Hamilton became one of the many former Crimson Tide standouts on the Washington Redskins roster last season, and performed well in his rookie season.
Appearing in all 16 games and making four starts, Hamilton recorded 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble.
Now, he seems ready for a bigger role, and Washington coach Jay Gruden thinks Hamilton has improved quite a bit this offseason. In a press conference after OTAs last week, Gruden praised Hamilton’s improvement this offseason (via AL.com):
“Shaun Dion Hamilton, along with Fabian (Moreau), are the two most improved players out here,” Gruden said as Washington wrapped up OTAs last week.
Hamilton should be ready for more work this fall, especially since the Redskins lost second-leading tackler Zach Brown won’t return to the team this year.
He’ll be one of many Alabama alums on the roster, so he should feel right at home in Washington.
