The Arizona Cardinals announced Saturday that they had cut former Arkansas standout Darius Philon following his arrest.

Philon was arrested in Phoenix for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly threatened to shoot a woman outside of a strip club, according to TMZSports.com. He was taken to jail Friday morning.

The alleged incident happened on May 17. He is accused of pointing a gun at a dancer outside a strip club. The victim told police that Philon urged her and another woman to his car where he said he had some money. Then, Philon allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it atthe  woman’s chest, asking, “Which one of you wants a bullet?”

The alleged victim then returned to the club and Philon drove away. He returned the next night, however, and allegedly grabbed her by the arm. He then followed her around the club for 30 minutes before leaving.

The alleged victim waited several weeks before going to Phoenix police. An investigation was launched, and Philon was arrested Friday morning.

The former Arkansas defensive lineman signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Cardinals this past year. He previously played for the San Diego Chargers from 2015-18.

The Cardinals already paid Philon a $4 million signing bonus. He was released on $5,000 bond Saturday.
