The Auburn Tigers face a tough schedule this fall, with games against No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Georgia, No. 6 LSU, No. 8 Florida, No. 11 Oregon and No. 12 Texas A&M.

Those are six absolutely brutal games, but the No. 16 Tigers are highly rated, too, so it’ll be interesting to see what they’re able to do this fall.

On “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday, college football handicapper Danny Sheridan said he thinks it’ll be a big year for the Tigers, predicting them to win 10 or 11 games (via 247Sports):

“On your show, I guess we’ve done this five years in a row, I’ve pointed out, been lucky, that Auburn would lose three or four games every year,” Sheridan said. “Most years they’ve been picked to do well. Malzahn, I think, he’ll have a good team every six years and this is a six year. I’m really high on Auburn. I they’re gonna win, in fact I bet them at the Beau Rivage (Casino in Mississippi), when I say charity bet it’s a pretty good sized bet, but it goes to charity if I get lucky and win. I bet Auburn to win over eight games, and I got ($110 to win $100) odds. I have them winning 10 games, maybe 11.”

On true freshman Bo Nix being named the starting quarterback, Sheridan said he has confidence in what Auburn returns around him:

When you say to me, ‘Well you know Bo Nix doesn’t have experience.’ He doesn’t have to have any. All he has to do, this team is loaded wide receivers, they’re loaded at running back, good tight ends, four seniors on the offensive line; all Nix has to do, and he’s more than capable of doing this, is to be a game manager. So I’m going to be real surprised if often doesn’t upset LSU, Florida, I don’t have the whole schedule in front of me, and I think they’re going to hold their own this year. And again, 10 wins.”

Will the Tigers pull off some big upsets this year? We’ll find out starting next Saturday night when they take on Oregon.
