Linebacker D’Vone McClure is leaving Arkansas, and now he’s announced his next step.

On Wednesday, McClure tweeted that he has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal. That means coaches can now contact the former Razorback about potentially joining their program.

McClure, who was in his junior season, left the Razorbacks with a desire to focus on academics and getting a job to help his family, Arkansas head coach Chad Morris said during his Monday press conference.

But it appears McClure may be going after another opportunity in football after announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal.

McClure played in all 12 games for Arkansas as a sophomore in 2018, collecting 26 tackles and a sack while also making six starts. But he hadn’t made as much of an impact this season, making five tackles over the Razorbacks’ first six games.

Before playing football at Arkansas, McClure spent four years playing minor league baseball in the Cleveland Indians organization, so he is currently 25.
