Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin took to Twitter this week in an attempt to find a new home-and-home series with a Power 5 opponent. That strategy seems to be working.

Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich answered Stricklin’s tweet, saying the Tigers “would enjoy a visit to the Swamp.”

Here’s the full exchange:

It’s good to see Florida try and push for an earlier scheduling years than 2037 and 2038. That feels more like a date that might be mentioned as a futuristic year in the upcoming new Terminator movie than a good scheduling date for a college football series.

However, not all athletic departments responded positively to Stricklin’s Twitter ploy to land another Power 5 home-and-home series.

From Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard:

The eight versus nine conference game schedule in the SEC is a debate for another time. The bottom line is Stricklin is attempting to bulk up the Florida schedule in any way he can, which will ultimately help the Gators build a playoff-caliber resume and assist in recruiting.
