Auburn drawing tremendous praise after first quarter of LSU-Oklahoma game
Only 1 team held the LSU Tigers to fewer than 36 points this season, and that was the Auburn Tigers.
Auburn not only held the LSU offense to only 23 points, but did it in Baton Rouge, as well. Looking back, that might be the most impressive thing any defense did all year.
After LSU scored 21 points in the first quarter of the Peach Bowl against Oklahoma, Auburn fans and college football fans in general went back and praised the Auburn defense for that impressive feat.
Here are just a few of the reactions to Auburn that surfaced during the early part of the Peach Bowl:
Auburn held this LSU offense to 23 points. That’s one of the most remarkable things that’s happened this CFB season.

Lsu is the best team in the country. Hands. Down.
And Auburn held them to 23 at freaking Baton Rouge

A reminder that LSU scored almost as many points in the 1st against OU as they did the whole game vs Auburn

Auburn held LSU to 23 points…at LSU.

Oklahoma without Jalen Hurts might have won six games. Auburn won nine with a true freshmen.
Hurts to Auburn would have bred a dominant team.

LSU has already scored 21 points against Oklahoma in the opening quarter alone, the most the Sooners have surrendered in a 1st quarter this season.
By comparison, Auburn held LSU to 23 points for four quarters…in Death Valley.

Watching how easy LSU's offense moves down the field makes me appreciate Auburn's Defense that much more. pic.twitter.com/IKmKCmz6y7

LSU currently leads 28-7 early in the second quarter. How many points can the Tigers put up on the Sooner defense?
