Tyrann Mathieu had a tumultuous time at LSU, eventually getting suspended in 2012. He remained close with coach Les Miles and the program, though, and that helped him land in the NFL.

Now, after spending the 2019 season with the Kansas City Chiefs, he’s a Super Bowl champion and is a huge reason for the Chiefs’ defensive improvement.

Mathieu has repeatedly credited LSU for helping him become who he is today, and the love is mutual. As you can see below, LSU released an awesome video celebrating Mathieu’s redemption story:

Mathieu recorded 6 tackles in the Super Bowl, and now, for the first time in his NFL career, he’s a champion.

LSU is clearly proud to claim him as one of its own, and this was a really cool video to make to celebrate his accomplishments.
