New Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin has a lot of fond memories of USC, having won 2 titles as an assistant under Pete Carroll.

However, he also has some not so great memories, as he was fired in 2013 by USC after a loss at Arizona State, a moment he called the lowest point in his career.

Now in charge of the Rebels, he’ll get a chance to have a bit of revenge on the Trojans. On Monday, the Rebels announced a home-and-home with USC. The Rebels will go to Los Angeles in 2025 and host the Trojans in Oxford in 2026:

“USC will always be a special place to my family and me, and we were excited to finalize this series,” Kiffin said. “This will showcase two of college football’s greatest gamedays, and we look forward to this meeting down the road.”

Current USC head coach Clay Helton was a former Kiffin assistant, so those 2 are probably still close. But, though those who left Kiffin on the tarmac back in 2013 are now gone from USC, these will still probably be games Kiffin circles on the schedule.

For Ole Miss, this series also provides some quality nonconference opposition for those 2 seasons. We’ll see if the Rebels add other big-name foes to the schedule moving forward.
