As players and coaches return to campuses across the country, many athletes have tested positive for COVID-19.

Now, on Wednesday, it has been announced that the first FBS head coach has tested positive for the virus — Toledo’s Jason Candle.

Candle took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to address his positive test, saying he hasn’t experienced any symptoms yet, but is isolating anyway:

Many in the college football world who have tested positive are asymptomatic, and Candle is relatively young for an FBS coach at age 40. COVID-19 is known to be more dangerous for older people.

Still, this is nothing to be taken lightly, and hopefully Candle makes a full recovery and can lead his team from the sidelines this fall.
