Report: NCAA Board of Governors holds meeting, reaches no conclusion on fall sports championships

The NCAA Board of Governors met on Tuesday, and it was a lengthy meeting, lasting until 7 p.m., according to Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger.

However, one of the biggest items at the meeting, determining whether or not to have fall sports championships, did not get voted on.

Per Stadium’s Brett McMurphy, this leaves it open for each of the NCAA divisions to determine how they want to handle things:

As for how that affects the Division I ranks, it could come down to Wednesday’s DI Board of Directors meeting:

Of course, there’s no guarantee that the Board of Directors will vote on Wednesday, which would leave sports in sort of a limbo situation.

Not only football is affected by this decision, so we’ll see what happens when Wednesday’s meeting takes place.
