Memphis football player shot ahead of game against Arkansas State

The Memphis Tigers are preparing for the start of their 2020 season on Saturday night against Arkansas State, but they’ll do so without one of their players.
Per a report from LocalMemphis.com, senior DB John Broussard Jr. was shot in the leg during an altercation near campus.
Local reporter Jeni DiPrizio shared the details from the police report. A second person was shot in the lower back:

Unfortunately, that update and those reports don’t state what condition Broussard is in at this time.
Memphis and Arkansas State are set to kick off at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN.
