The Missouri Tigers are coming off one of the program’s biggest victories in recent years — a 45-41 win over LSU — and it may not have happened without Nick Bolton.

Bolton, the winner of this week’s FWAA Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, recorded 11 tackles and 3 pass break-ups against the Tigers and made one of the most impactful plays of the game when he batted down a 3rd-and-goal pass on the 1-yard-line in the final minute of the game.

The junior All-SEC linebacker also recorded a tackle on the final goal-line stand.

Bolton is currently tied with Bumper Pool and Jalen Catalon of Arkansas for the most tackles in the SEC with 36. The Mizzou LB finished 2019 as the conference leader in solo tackles with 74.

Bolton’s award is the first FWAA’s National Player of the Week Award for Missouri since Drew Lock took home the Walter Camp Offensive Award on Sept. 3, 2017.

The Tigers’ upcoming game against Vanderbilt was postponed until Dec. 12 due to the Commodores not having enough scholarship players available for the weekend.
