5-star DT Maason Smith’s top 5 list includes Alabama, Georgia, LSU,Florida and Miami. The 6-foot-5, 316-pound prospect is ranked No. 19 nationally and is the No. 3 overall defensive tackle, according to 247Sports.

The 6’5 316 2021 Prospect is a Top 20 Player in the Class. According to the Top247 Rankings, Smith is ranked #19 Nationally, the #3 DT, and #1 in the state of Louisiana.

The 247Sports crystal ball is predicting that Smith will remain in his home state and select LSU.
Smith explained to 247Sports what would attract him to LSU and expresses his admiration for the coaching staff.
“I feel like those are my dudes,” he said. “It’s always love from them. I definitely feel that if I went there I would be able to play pretty early. With them losing Tyler (Shelvin) and Glen Logan next year or this year they’re going to have that three technique open.”
We’ll have to wait and see who Smith ends up committing to, but whoever lands him will be getting a special prospect.
