Eli Drinkwitz reveals Mizzou lineman ‘played well’ against LSU after overnight hospital stay

Missouri delivered a signature win for first-year head coach Eli Drinkwitz last Saturday, its defense putting together a last-second goal-line stand to hold off LSU, 45-41.
But one of Mizzou’s left tackles apparently wasn’t at full strength despite featuring in the contest.
During his weekly radio show on Thursday night, Drinkwitz revealed that junior left tackle Zeke Powell had been discharged from the hospital just hours before the game, after having to stay overnight due to an infection.

That’s a credit to the toughness of Powell, who transferred in from junior college in July. The most important part is that he seems to be OK now, and the effects of his infection, wherever it stemmed from, clearly weren’t serious enough to keep him in the hospital for an extended period of time.
Unfortunately for Mizzou, its game against Vanderbilt on Saturday has been postponed. The Tigers are scheduled to play at Florida on Oct. 24.
