The Auburn-South Carolina game this coming season is going to have plenty of sizzle.

For starters, there was the issue of departures by Mike Bobo and Will Friend as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, who left for Auburn after their contracts were signed and approved by the Board of Trustees. Now comes news from Bruce Feldman of The Athletic and Fox Sports that defensive line coach Tracy Rocker, like Bobo another holdover from the Will Muschamp staff, has also moved on and is reportedly in the mix to also join the Auburn staff.

Feldman noted that Rocker is an Auburn alumnus who won the Outland and Lombardi Trophies, and was the Tigers D-line coach when they won the national title.

Rocker is a veteran SEC assistant, who has also coached at Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Arkansas. He also coached at Cincinnati (2002), and Troy State (1997-01), and Rocker spent three seasons with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans (2011-13).

Rocker was named SEC Player of the Year following his senior season in 1988. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
