The 2021 NFL Draft will be here before we know it. Though the offensive players, specifically the quarterbacks and wide receivers, are getting plenty of buzz, there are some elite defensive players in the class, too.

On Monday’s edition of “NFL Live” on ESPN, analyst Marcus Spears ranked his top-5 defensive players in the draft class.

Two of the players Spears named were from the SEC. He had Alabama CB Patrick Surtain II at No. 2 on his list and Georgia LB Azeez Ojulari at No. 5:

  1. Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
  2. Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
  3. Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
  4. Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami
  5. Azeez Ojulari, LB, Georgia

The other SEC players who could make a case for inclusion on the list are South Carolina CB Jaycee Horn and Alabama DL Christian Barmore, but Spears didn’t have them in his top 5.

We’ll see how things play out on draft night!
