Matt Corral has been incredible this year. Through 3 games, the Ole Miss quarterback has thrown for 997 yards, 9 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He has also added 158 yards and 5 touchdowns as a rusher.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Corral is the Heisman frontrunner as things stand now (he’s +200 to win at DraftKings Sportsbook).

On “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX on Tuesday, SEC Network analyst Jordan Rodgers said he’s not surprised Corral is the Heisman frontrunner. Then, he named the biggest obstacle to Corral actually winning the prestigious award:

“No, surprised why? I mean, he’s the best player in the country. I knew that before the season,” Rodgers said. “Now, is the team going to be good enough for him to win the Heisman? I think he’ll be the best player at the end of the year. I don’t think we’ll have any question about that. But, will Ole Miss be in the conversation of being ranked, being close enough to the top to garner the Heisman attention? I don’t know, but he’s been one of the best players, so it doesn’t surprise me.”

Corral and the Rebels are off this week, but then he’ll have a chance to have a Heisman moment when the Rebels visit No. 1 Alabama on Oct. 2.
