ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of every college football game every week. FPI is a metric developed by ESPN that “measures team strength and uses it to forecast game and season results.”

For this week, the formula has released the projection for a much-anticipated Ole Miss-Georgia. Probably no surprise, but the Georgia Bulldogs are heavily favored at home. The formula gives the Bulldogs a 69.6% implied win probability in the matchup.

The Bulldogs are currently favored by 10.5 points and the over/under total is set at 58.5. The Bulldogs are trying to remain perfect and improve to 7-0 in SEC play and 10-0 overall.

Ole Miss, however, is hoping to leave Athens with a program-defining win that would move the team to 6-1 in SEC play and 9-1 overall. The Rebels have won 5 in a row after falling to Alabama back in September.

These 2 teams have not played each other since 2016. In that matchup, the Rebels dominated and came away with a 45-14 win in Oxford. All time in the series, the Bulldogs have won 32 times compared to the Rebels’ 12 victories.

The Rebels technically still have a chance to go to the SEC Championship, but they would need a ton of help including 2 losses from Alabama to Kentucky and Auburn. And even if that happens, Ole Miss would still need to win remaining contests against Georgia and MSU. Obviously, that’s highly unlikely.

These 2 teams will kick off at 7 p.m. Eastern on Saturday from Athens.
