Alabama’s first 3 games of the 2019 season have either been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Eastern time or 4 p.m. Eastern time.
However, in Week 4, they’ve been slated to play against Southern Miss in Tuscaloosa at noon Eastern time, and boy, are they upset about it.
On Monday, AD Greg Byrne and president Stuart R. Bell issued a statement complaining about the noon start time, claiming they’ve had more September nonconference home games kicking off at noon than any other SEC team since 2014:

Is this at all related to coach Nick Saban complaining about the student section leaving games early? This seems like a very aggressive response to one noon kickoff time in September in 2019.
Of course, the league office will likely point to the fact that the current No. 2 team in the country is hosting a 1-1 Conference USA squad. Not exactly the most compelling game of the week.
