Alabama made a huge addition to its 2024 defensive line on Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide picked up a commitment from ex-Texas A&M defensive lineman LT Overton. The former Aggie was a 5-star prospect in the class of 2022 and has the upside to be a difference-maker for Alabama up front in 2024.

Overton shared his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Overton was the No. 14 overall player and the No. 4 defensive lineman in the country for the class of 2022, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was also the No. 3 player from the state of Georgia.

In two seasons at Texas A&M, Overton recorded 48 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 1 sack. Most of that production came during his true freshman campaign in 2022.

Overton will now join an Alabama program that’s fighting for another national championship in a couple of weeks. He’ll have a chance to be part of the Tide’s defensive line rotation in 2024 and beyond.

Overton is Alabama’s first transfer commitment of the 2024 cycle so far. The Tide are expected to add more transfers over the coming weeks and months.

Overton has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
