Alabama earned a commitment from a top offensive lineman in the transfer portal on Sunday night.

The Crimson Tide added ex-Washington center Parker Brailsford out of the transfer portal. Brailsford reunites with former Washington coach Kalen DeBoer in Tuscaloosa.

Brailsford, who was a freshman All-American in 2023, started all 15 games for the Huskies last season. He made 13 total starts at center, including both of Washington’s College Football Playoff games.

He shared his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Center became a need for Alabama when Seth McLaughlin entered the portal earlier this offseason. McLaughlin struggled with snapping the ball in Alabama’s Rose Bowl loss to Michigan in the College Football Playoff. He ended up transfer to Ohio State.

Brailsford will now join the Tide as they look to rebuild their roster ahead of the 2024 season.

Brailsford was one of the best interior offensive lineman in the entire country last season. In addition to freshman All-America honors, he was named 2nd team all-Pac 12 for his efforts. He was also a key reason why Washington took home the Joe Moore Award as the nation’s best offensive line.

Brailsford is originally from Mesa, Arizona. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 275 pounds. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.
