Alabama coach Nick Saban has an embarrassment of riches available to him, thanks to his track record of success and continued excellence on the recruiting trails.

Especially on defense, when one star player goes down, a highly rated recruit is there waiting to take his place.

However, after Saturday’s win over Florida State, the Crimson Tide linebacking corps was devastated by injury, with four linebackers suffering injuries, two of which (to Christian Miller and Terrell Lewis) were season-ending.

Never fear, though, as the No. 2 overall strong-side defensive end in the 2017 class — 5-star signee LaBryan Ray — was spotted working with the linebackers at Monday’s practice:

At 6-5 and 272 pounds, Ray will be a beast of a linebacker if he actually sees the field at the position.

With not many other options available at the moment, the Crimson could do a lot worse than LaBryan Ray.
