Alabama lost one big-time piece of the 2025 recruiting class Sunday evening.
According to Hayes Fawcett with On3 Sports, 5-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is reopening his recruitment during the coaching changes for the Crimson Tide. Ffrench originally committed to Alabama in July but is reopening his recruitment following the retirement of Nick Saban and the hiring of Kalen DeBoer.
We’ll see if DeBoer and his staff can put in the work to regain Ffrench’s commitment as one of the impact receivers available:

Ffrench is listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds out of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. The 247 Sports Composite rates Ffrench as the No. 11 player in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 3 WR in the country as a 5-star recruit.
Ffrench is the second 5-star receiver to decommit from the Tide since Saban announced his retirement. Ryan Williams, a 5-star WR and in-state prospect who did not sign in the Early Signing Period, reopened his recruitment this past week. Williams will commit and sign on National Signing Day in February.
As for the 2025 recruiting class, Alabama is down to 6 players currently in a group that ranks 6th nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. The Crimson Tide still have plenty of time to get to work, but DeBoer will need to show he can adapt to SEC recruiting now at the helm in Tuscaloosa.
