Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian shares thoughts on QBs Mac Jones and Bryce Young
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Many expect QB Mac Jones to earn the starting job for Alabama in Week 1 of the 2020 season at Mizzou.
However, Jones will have to play well to keep that job all year should he win it, as freshman sensation Bryce Young is already making waves.
On Tuesday evening, OC Steve Sarkisian spoke to reporters and weighed in on the 2 quarterbacks. He said he loves Jones’s experience:
Sarkisian on Mac Jones: “There’s nothing like game experience.”
Praises Jones for playing well in starts, when not being thrown into the fire against Tennessee.

As for the 5-star freshman, Sark said he’s been impressed with Young’s work ethic and his natural passing ability:
Steve Sakisian on freshman QB Bryce Young:
“The guy definitely studies the game. He works at it. He’s got a great attention to detail.”

Sark: “With Bryce (Young), I’ve been really impressed.”
“Although it’s only been 2 practices, you see the natural passer in him, you see the feel for the game. There’s a lot to build on."

It’s still early in the fall practice season, as there’s still more than a month before Week 1, but with 2 talented quarterbacks going head t0 head, this will be a battle to watch moving forward.
