Alabama produces Mr. Irrelevant to finalize 2024 NFL Draft
Alabama can now claim Mr. Irrelevant status, producing the final pick of the 2024 NFL Draft!
Historically, the final pick in the draft has become known as “Mr. Irrelevant,” a nod to the improbability of the 7th-round pick to make a major impact in the NFL. However, the pick in recent years has become known as the Brock Purdy pick after the former Iowa State quarterback was selected by the San Francisco 49ers before eventually taking hold of the starting QB job.
This year, Mr. Irrelevant hails from the Crimson Tide and the final team of Nick Saban’s illustrious coaching career. With the 257th overall pick, the New York Jets selected Alabama defensive back Jaylen Key.

After 4 seasons at UAB, Key transferred to Alabama for his final college season and finished 6th on the team with 60 total tackles. He added an interception, and now he will get his chance to try and make an NFL roster.
The selection of Key also closes the book on Saban’s elite production of NFL Draft picks while in Tuscaloosa. Alabama produced 3 1st-round picks Thursday night, and Key gives the Tide 10 total selections in the 2024 NFL Draft.
I don’t remember Alabama ever having a Mr. Irrelevant. Does anyone know if he was the first?
No, I don’t either
“Alabama can now claim Mr. Irrelevant status“
What do you think this means? You gumps still don’t know how to read.
Got your ticket for the next Music City Bowl, Voluntear?
Maybe not but we can get from Tuscaloosa to Knoxville with our eyes closed. Simply go north until we smell Shíț, then go east until we see it.
That’s not sh!t. Your smelling gump corpses. We figured that your dead cousins would help y’all find our stadium sense your used to that rotten smell they got between their legs.
No. Ramzee Robinson (CB) was Mr. Irrelevant in 2007. Former Mr. Irrelevants who have been . . . well . . . relevant recently in the NFL:
Ryan Succop (K) out of South Carolina
Brock Purdy (QB) out of Iowa State
HE’s really from UAB lol. That’s where he was in 23 wasn’t it? lol
Aren’t you the one that is always claiming Jalen Hurts is from Oklahoma? Make up your mind.
But a guy named tom Brady was also the final pick in his draft. Anything is possible when a player is in the right position with the team that has the coaches to coaches him up.
No he wasn’t. He wasn’t even selected in the final round. Tom Brady was selected #199. That’s the 6th round. There were 7 players selected after him in that round, plus all of the players selected in the 7th round. Mike Green out of Northwestern State was selected last at #254.
The second part of your statement is correct though.
Paul Harvey….. now there is irrelevant,,,, sort of like B1G, whatever that means.
