Alabama reportedly makes decision on QB ahead of South Florida

Alabama is making a chance at quarterback following its loss to Texas last week, and ahead of its game Saturday at South Florida.
Tyler Buchner, a Notre Dame transfer, is expected to start over Jalen Milroe when the 10th-ranked Crimson Tide play at South Florida on Saturday, 247Sports reported, and ESPN’s Chris Low confirmed. Buchner took the majority of first-team reps in practice this week.
This decision has been long speculated about this week as the Crimson Tide look for answers to get back on track following a historic loss against the Longhorns.
Jalen Milroe started the Crimson Tide’s first 2 games, but threw 2 interceptions in Alabama’s 34-24 loss to Texas last week. Buchner played under Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees last season when both were at Notre Dame.
This issue has long been speculated since Alabama came out of spring practice without a clear-cut starter at quarterback, and especially ramped up when Buchner made his transfer.
