Opposing wide receivers and defensive backs tend to be plenty familiar with each other. A clip from the Dallas Cowboys sidelines during the team’s recent game against the Carolina Panthers humorously shows that Amari Cooper didn’t realize his touchdown catch came against CJ Henderson.

“Number 15, that’s his first game with them,” Dak Prescott said of Henderson to Cooper.

“I don’t know who the (bleep) that is,” Cooper replied.

Doug Nussmeier, currently the Cowboys quarterbacks coach, is familiar with both players. Nussmeier was offensive coordinator at Alabama for Cooper’s first two seasons with the Crimson Tide (2012-13) and Florida’s OC for Henderson’s freshman season (2017).

Nussmeier pointed out Cooper and Henderson’s Miami roots.

“He’s your Miami boy, too: CJ Henderson. He went to Florida,” Nussmeier tells Cooper.

Cooper knew that Henderson went to Columbus upon hearing his name.

“He went to one of my rival high schools. I didn’t know that was him (bleep),” Cooper said.

It appears Cooper, a Miami Northwestern alum, follows Miami high school football closely, considering his final Alabama season came in 2014 and Henderson was a class of 2017 recruit.
