Bryce Young and Alabama ensured that their 2022 season wouldn’t include a loss to Auburn as they hammered the Tigers 49-27 at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday evening. Young was terrific, going 20-of-30 for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns versus just 1 interception.

A pair of true freshman Crimson Tide receivers featured in the win: Isaiah Bond and Kendrick Law, who combined for 6 catches and 88 yards. Bond has played in all 12 games and has made 16 total grabs for 214 yards; Law has made 8 catches for 103 yards through 10 appearances.

“‘IB’ and ‘K-Law’ have done a great job of stepping up,” Young said after the game. “[They’re] young guys, true freshmen, but you wouldn’t know by how they attack the week of practice, how they approach meetings and everything like that. They definitely have a professionalism about them that gets them ready to play in moments like this [and] the moment’s never too big…You can tell they’re confident. They play free [and] have fun.”

Alabama’s produced its share of elite receivers in recent seasons. Bond and Law will hope that they can follow in the footsteps of players like Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, and Jameson Williams when it’s all said and done.
