Colin Cowherd reverses course on Jim Harbaugh being better than Nick Saban after latest puzzling Michigan loss
Jim Harbaugh is 48-19 as the head coach of Michigan. At first glance, that’s a decent mark, but after finishing no higher than 3rd in the Big Ten’s East Division standings in all but 1 year, it’s easy to see why Wolverines fans are disappointed with the return on investment they’ve received from him thus far.
The Wolverines’ most recent loss is sure to lead to even more frustration. After a 38-27 loss to Rutgers, Michigan State entered the Big House and knocked off the No. 13 team in the country, winning by a count of 27-24. It was a far cry from last year’s contest between the 2 teams, which the Wolverines dominated, 44-10.
And that led one of Harbaugh’s most ardent supporters, FOX Sports personality Colin Cowherd, to rethink things.

This is a rather surprising statement from Cowherd, since as recently as Nov. 2018, he felt that Harbaugh was better than one of the best college coaches of all time: Nick Saban.

That’s quite a bold statement. “By the way”—to borrow a popular phrase from Cowherd—Saban entered Saturday with an all-time record of 248-65-1, including 157-23 at Alabama. Most importantly, he’s won 6 national championships, all of those in the country’s leading football conference.
Unfortunately for Cowherd, the video’s still out there, so in case he ever wants to claim that he never said that Harbaugh was better than Saban, the proof is there.
