As the various national awards continue to whittle their lists of candidates down, the University of Alabama had three more people named semifinalists.

Both wide receiver Amari Cooper and quarterback Blake Sims, who wasn’t on any preseason watch lists, were named semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.

It’s essentially considered one of the three most valuable player awards, the others being the Maxwell Award and the Heisman Trophy.

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott was the only other player from the Southeastern Conference to make the list of 15.
