Could the return of Jaylen Waddle be closer than we thought?

The Alabama wide receiver sustained an ankle injury during the Crimson Tide’s blowout win over Tennessee on Oct. 24. While it was originally feared to be a season-ending injury, Nick Saban suggested that there was a chance that Waddle could return if things go well with his recovery.

On Monday evening, fellow wideout DeVonta Smith seemed to fan the flames a bit when he posted a video of Waddle in the Tide locker room without a walking boot. You can view the brief clip below:

The Tide, of course, have been doing just fine without Waddle in the lineup. They are a favorite to defeat Florida in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game and advance to their 6th College Football Playoff after missing out for the first time in 2019.

But Smith’s brief video is sure to touch off some speculation as to whether or not we’ll see Waddle make a return in the semifinal game. If he does, an already dominant offense is even better.
