Emil Ekiyor names Alabama offensive lineman he thinks is 'ready to have a big year'
Emil Ekiyor knows the Alabama offensive line needs to be better in 2022 if the Crimson Tide are going to accomplish their goal of winning a national title.
But, replacing a first-round NFL Draft talent like Evan Neal won’t be easy. Even so, Ekiyor is confident in his teammates and thinks one guy is ready to take a step forward this fall.
Speaking this week, Ekiyor named JC Latham, a former 5-star recruit, as the guy to keep an eye on in 2022 (via TDAlabamaMag.com):
“That is my guy,” Ekiyor said of Latham. “He came in from day one as a freshman and was ready to work. He and I this summer got in a lot of reps. We would come here in the morning to get extra sets in. I am taking him under my wing as an older guy. He has put in a lot of work this offseason, and I feel he’s ready to have a big year.”
Latham taking on a bigger role will be big for the Alabama offensive line. We’ll see if he and his offensive line teammates are up to the task when the Tide take on Utah State in a few short weeks to begin the 2022 season.
I’m not sure Bama destroying Utah State will really reveal all that much about how ready they are to compete for a title.
It will show if they are on the same page or looking lost on basic stunts like they were last year.
Why is Alabama no longer #1 in recruiting? How did Notre dame jump ahead of the Gumps?
Thought Saban was running recruiting? LOL
Think before you comment. Kirby could be back on top in ONE DAY!!!!
Saban and his cult are sooooooooooooo funny!!!!!

Neggie. You made a big mistake. You tried to think. Don’t do that, you are not equipped to do any thinking. You will do better as a follower. You might hurt yourself trying to think too much.
LMAO… it’s the sister boy..
CLOWN
So much will depend on Bama’s offensive line in 2022. If the Tide had UGA’s o-line, I would predict a 15-0 season. Alas, they don’t, and I won’t.
They don’t but I do. Though the odds of me being right are long.
Don’t underestimate the effect a good coach can have. Bama didn’t have that last year….this year they do
