Former Alabama QB Julian Sayin has found his new home. Sayin revealed Sunday that he is transferring to Ohio State.

Sayin, a Class of 2024 signee, has yet to play college football. Because he enrolled at Alabama, though, he had to enter the NCAA transfer portal to change teams after Nick Saban’s retirement.

“Incredibly excited to join the team here at Ohio State,” Sayin told ESPN’s Pete Thamel about his decision. “I held this program in high regard throughout my entire recruiting process and am looking forward to learning from some of the most talented players and coaches in college football and contributing to our team’s success.”

A standout of Carlsbad (California) High School, Sayin was the No. 1 quarterback prospect of the 2024 recruiting class. He was rated 5-stars and the No. 5 player overall by the 247Sports Composite. He picked up scholarship offers from 25 programs during his initial recruitment.

Sayin’s departure should not affect the Alabama quarterback room for 2024. Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson and Dylan Lonergan are all set to return. Kalen DeBoer and his staff, though, will likely seek to add depth with Sayin’s early departure from the program. Washington transfer QB Austin Mack committed to following DeBoer to Tuscaloosa on Thursday.
