When it comes to the College Football Playoff, debate is one thing that is guaranteed to happen.

Most of this year’s debate, however, revolves around three of the Playoff spots and not all four of them. With an undefeated record and an impressive resume, Alabama is considered a lock to once again make the Playoff field.

That is, unless you’re ESPN college football reporter Heather Dinich.

Appearing on The Paul Finebaum Show, Dinich shared a scorching hot take about the Crimson Tide.

Alabama currently holds victories over seven teams who were ranked in the Top 25 at the time it faced them. Those victories came by an aggregate score of 271-115, which isn’t exactly close.

To be fair to Dinich, she did say she feels that Alabama is the top team in the country. Her logic seemed to rest on the fact that the SEC is in a big down year and that the Crimson Tide’s conference victories aren’t as impressive as in years past.

Tuscaloosa News’ Cecil Hurts seemed to especially disagree with Dinich’s line of thinking and expressed that and more on Twitter.

All of these matters will be settled on the field, but until that happens, these debates will continue to carry on.
