Jahmyr Gibbs may have had a quiet start to the Alabama football season. However, that changed Saturday with his electrifying breakout performance against Arkansas.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was injured in the first half and didn’t return to the game. So, the Tide turned to another superstar in the Georgia Tech transfer Gibbs to play the hero. And play it he did.

The Tide running back carried it 18 times for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gibbs’ first touchdown came on a 72-yard rush early in the fourth quarter.

Gibbs’ next touchdown run came on a 76-yard carry mid-way through the fourth quarter.

The Alabama running back has proved to be a weapon running the ball, but he’s also been a bonus in the passing game. He caught 2 passes for 20 yards Saturday in the win over Arkansas. Coming into Saturday, Gibbs had recorded 17 catches for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Gibbs’ breakout performance had college football fans buzzing.
